this is the sunset shot from my iphone from yesterday, went to lani’s to hang out with the family and i got to play with the turtles, pretty cool. i also got to go surfing in the last 3 days and it felt great to get back in the water. guess what we got waves in town again, looks like i got to go surfing again. wow i think there is a God, i got to go surfing 4 times in the same week…… Read more

The Golden Hour Take 2

The best time to shoot portraits is at the ”Golden Hour” about 30 minutes before sunrise/sunset and the 30 minutes after. There is about an hour window to get a few magical shots. 

Sunset, is the time at which the Sun disappears below the horizon in the west. It should not be confused with dusk, which is the point at which darkness falls. Read more

This is Shawna and Jerry, they came to Hawaii to take care of some wedding arrangements. The cool thing is finally meeting them today for the first time after a few emails and some phone calling. They flew from the westcoast to hang out with us. These guys are really awesome and it looks like we’re going to have a fun time shooting their wedding.

The Dave Hill Look

Have you ever heard of the photographer, Dave Hill? probably not, but check out his images www.davehillphoto.com. He has a special look like he illustrates his images, but if you look at it closely, the images are real photos. It’s in between fantasy and real life, making his images have the surreal look to them.

This has inspired me to play with lightroom and photoshop more to create my own Dave Hill look. check out some of my test images that i have played with for now.

Wow check this out, i was digging through some old video’s and i found this. this is an old surfing video that i made for a resume when i used to surf all the time. this thing is about 10 years old, check it out it’s pretty funny. this is for the grandkids when they say that grandpa didn’t surf. eat your heart out groms! haha!
